In the US, pharma researcher Decision Resources Group (DRG) has acquired health plan data specialist Adaptive Software. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Joe LayneFounded in 2001, Kansas City-based Adaptive has developed a management platform called RxFlex for pharmacy benefit managers, health plans and hospitals; while its RxComplete offers a single platform web-based solution for managing clients, formularies, benefit plans, networks and pricing. The firm's customers currently manage pharmacy benefits for more than 95 million US citizens.
DRG says the acquisition represents a 'further push' into the payer market, which will extend its role in providing data, insight and software solutions relating to drug efficacy, pricing, market access, contracting strategies and benefit design.
